Aims:
Identify relevant frameworks, models of good practice and evidence of impact (or stories of change) – drawn from existing reviews of social learning literature and case studies – that can contribute to supporting community level decision making on climate change and agriculture through social learning processes;
Identify appropriate models for monitoring and evaluating the impact of social learning approaches on enhanced outcomes at the local level;
Provide specific recommendations on good practices and approaches that can inform the 5 change areas in current CCAFS social learning strategy under theme 4.2
Scope:
The study will build on results from the first Phase of IDS/IIED research but go further into depth on the social learning dimension;
Focus is on CCAFS 4.2 engagement priorities (supporting decision making at community scale with special attention to social differentiation) but will extend to review literature and approaches which may be relevant to this scale of intervention;
Links to existing work being carried out by other CCAFS partners (in the sandbox and other sub-contracted work), and draws their own work into the study;
The study’s findings and recommendations will be organised to be easily accessible in line with each of the five CCAFS social learning change areas.
